Note Clinic Case Study

Project Overview:

NoteClinic is a medical app designed to assist healthcare professionals in recording and automating session notes with patients. The app was envisioned to streamline documentation, generate detailed scripts for review, and summarize key points discussed, providing doctors with an efficient tool for patient care. My role focused on developing a cohesive brand identity, redesigning the app’s interface, and enhancing its functionality to better support its target users.

Brand and UX/UI Designer, responsible for developing the brand identity, redesigning the app interface, and implementing features tailored to medical professionals’ needs.

Problem Statement:

The app initially lacked clear branding and essential features, making it difficult for healthcare professionals to navigate and use efficiently. The design was unpolished, and its limited functionality did not adequately support doctors in managing patient sessions. The challenge was to create an intuitive, professional interface with features that automated and enhanced session documentation.

Design Objectives:

Simplify Session Workflows: Provide a user-friendly design to streamline the process of documenting patient visits.
Professional Branding: Establish a cohesive brand identity reflecting the credibility and precision expected in the medical field.
Enhanced Features: Add critical functionalities such as note automation, session summaries, and patient management tools.
Intuitive Navigation: Ensure the interface is straightforward and supports the fast-paced environment of healthcare professionals.‍

Process

1. Brand Development: Crafted a professional and modern identity using a clean color palette of blues and whites, minimalistic typography, and precise iconography to resonate with the medical industry.

2. Wireframing: Designed low-fidelity wireframes to outline user flows, ensuring all key features were accessible and logically placed.

3. Feature Enhancement: Implemented new features, including automated script generation, a session overview dashboard, and the ability to organize notes under categories like presenting complaints, symptoms, and recommendations.

4. High-Fidelity Prototypes: Built detailed prototypes showcasing the enhanced design and features, focusing on clarity and usability.

5. Polished Visual Design: Applied a minimalistic aesthetic with clear hierarchies and bold call-to-action buttons for core functionalities such as starting sessions, generating notes, and creating new patient profiles.

Results:

The redesigned app successfully addressed the initial challenges, creating a seamless experience for medical professionals. The modernized branding and intuitive interface elevated the app’s professional appeal. Feedback from the client was highly positive, highlighting how the designs captured their vision and exceeded expectations.
